When I heard that the Lord of the Ring movies were coming out, my friend Allison inspired me
to finally read the books and post my reports online. I enjoyed them so much that I decided to start a comic strip called Waiting For Frodo, which ran until the last movie came out.

I had great fun with it and enjoyed getting letters and photos from people around the world who were just as excited about the upcoming Lord Of The Rings movies. Hey, I had fans at Weta Digital:

I even started putting Shane McEwan (in above photo, on the right) in some of my comics.

Shane’s no longer at Weta but we’ve kept in touch over the years. You can now find him at Virtual Doughnutland and Ozpod. I still hope to meet him in person someday.

When news of the new Hobbit movie came out, I couldn’t help but thinking about starting up another strip…especially when a number of readers of my earlier strip started writing to me, all with the same suggestion. :-)
